HKDRC 33rd Hogn Kong Green Half Marathon 2010 - Sunday, 7 November 2010
(Attracts Hot Respnse - An Excited Green Race that You Shouldn't Miss)
Organized by the Hong Kong distance Runners Club abnd supported by six sponsors, the HKDRC 33rd Hogn Kong Green Half Marathon 2010 will be held on Sunday, 7 November 2010 at Tai Mei Tuk, Tai Po. As of 10 October 2010, close to 700 runners were registered for participation. You've got only three more weeks for sign-up your entry applications. Runners who are interested to join this race should Act Now.
Hong Kong Distrance Runners Club, the organizer of HKDRC 33rd Hong Kong Green Half Marathon 2010 took lead on promoting environmental protection in distance runnign race that include application for road closure from Transport Department to gaive a traffic free course so as to achieve Zero Carbon Emission all along the roads of Green. The organizer provides a maximum time limit up to 2.5 hours for participants to complete and enjoy the run. The event is expected to attract over 1000 local and oversea runners. Entry forms are available at all Nature's village shops, Marathon Sprots and GigaSports outlets and/or can be downloaded from HKDRC web-stie www.hkdrc.org.
To enhance the excitement of the race ,we registered 6 teams of 5 runners for joining the team competition. They are 'King Power勁跑', 'TSW吹水會', 'Gammon Construction Limited', 'City University', 'wind's Bar and Cafe Limited' and other representing different commercial trades. it is believed that excited team competition can be seen in this race.
For individual ocmpetition, there are 9 divsions set (Men Open, Men Senior I & II, Men Veteran I & II, Women Open, Women Senior and Women Veteran). The entry fee for each application is HK$180 which includes bus services to be taken at 4 stations. Other than those expensive prizes are to be awarded to the Winners. A copelte set of special designed souvenirs include T-shirt, Towel, Finisher Medal and Recycle Bag will be given to each finisher. All items are having a tree of Green.
The Half Marathon begains at 7:30am and ends at 10:00am. Runners start at the Youth Hostel at Tai Mei Tuk near Plover Cove Dam and proceed along Brides Pool Road with repeat loop in an out via Wu Kau Tang then to Luk Keng turnaround and return along Brides Pool Road to finish at the Youth Hostel. The whole route makes 13.1 miles exactly half the distance of a full marathon.
